Wordful Wednesday

This may seem like an inconsequential photo, but for me it isn't.

Its Elle with a barrette in her hair. The funny thing is she wanted it in her hair. She likes girly things. Hallelujah. I've been known to bitch about mention the fact that I grew up with 4 brothers and all boy cousins. Not a girl in the bunch. Needless to say I didn't wear barrettes or cute dresses or anything girly. If I did, all it did was give my brothers ammunition. Its tough being different sometimes, so I was a tomboy. Now that I have daughters I realize I was a tomboy only because it made my life easier at the time. So this photo was eye opening to me and taught me something about myself. It may be a small, insignificant thing, but its still something that made me say, "Hmmmm." So, with this photo I embrace everything girly. Every single thing: barrettes, nail polish, dolls, dress-up, and cute little pink toy doggies that fit in the palm of your hand. Amen.

What a cute picture! Your daughter looks very much like you. My nieces (well, actually I refer to them that way but they are actually second cousins, but they seem like nieces) are both girly, especially the younger one. She is all girl, all the time. It's very fun to pick out stuff for her.

I LOVE it!! She is precious and I love that you are embracing your inner girly. I was so shy as a kid that I wore "dirt" colors as my mom would say. I wanted to blend into...I don't know, the ground I guess. Now that I am confidently me, I love to be pretty and girly and chic and sexy and I want to yell "hey look at me!". This post is priceless!

funny - I had 3 brothers and 9 boy cousins - no girls anywhere - I tried to be a girly girl - wasn't allowed! Like you said, not too easy for everyone else. I AM a girly girl today and I have one as well and one self proclaimed tomboy!

Oh how sweet. The girly part is the part I love most about having girls. The drama is the part I'm So NOT loving. :) The girls are growing up so quickly!

What a little cutie!
I was a tomboy growing up as well. I like to be well balanced. I can work hard, play sports, home remodel, etc. But I also like to look good, paint my toenails and have my makeup done. I LOVE doing my girls hair (it is finally getting long and thickening up!)

I am so thankful that both my girls are VERY girly even though they have two older brothers.

And Barbies. You forgot Barbies. Enjoy all that pink goodness, it gets old FAST!

When they will only wear dresses. EVERY day. and people start calling them the little polygamist girls because you dress them in dresses OVER their pants.

Ask me how I know.

How cute she is! I'm right there with you in the tomboy phase, and I think Jessie is the same way:(

Did you get your package yet?

I agree with Angie... Love the girly girl part... not so much the drama!

I am SO glad you commented on my blog. I thought you were out of the blogging world!!! I did not know you had a craft blog. (I know.. I am out of it most of the time since I started babysitting...4 more months left!)

She is so darling... and getting so big!
