Block 4 and a Setting Block

Here is block 4 of Crazy Mom Quilts' quilt-along.
I'm afraid this is as good as this one is going to get. It isn't horrible, but it sure isn't anything to write home about....

And a setting block. This turned out pretty good.

Block 3

Here's block 3 for Amanda Jean's quilt-along at Crazy Mom Quilts. It isn't perfect, but it looks better than I thought it'd look. For the record, I will no longer be cutting my block pieces at 2 am. I cut the pieces for blocks 1,2, & 3 at 2am last friday night and then sewed blocks 1 & 2 over the weekend and block 3 this afternoon. All 3 blocks are measuring 12 and a quarter square. My seams are a quarter inch on the money, so I must've cut them wrong. I'm going to cut each block to be 12 inches square to make it all even, so I'll have a slightly smaller quilt at the end of the quilt-along, but that's ok. Its my first time doing a star quilt, so I'm just going to go with it and enjoy the process. Maybe learn a thing or two as well! (like, don't cut fabric at 2 am!) I'm also getting to know my new sewing machine better since I am finally using it on a regular basis. I thought I'd just whiz along and love this machine, but I swore a blue streak at it this afternoon. Getting a new sewing machine is like any other relationship, I guess. There's a break in period where you get to know one another and after a few months you decide if you are truly compatible. So far, I think we will be, but I'm seriously thinking I should have pursued a Bernina!

Quilt-Along Blocks 1 & 2

I had to rethink my quilt for AmandaJean's quilt along at Crazy Mom Quilts. I knew I wasn't going to have enough of the background fabric, but started the quilt-along with it thinking I'd just "figure something out." I can't get more of the fabric because it is from my stash and I've had it for a few years. No one carries it anymore. SO, I switched fabrics and am now playing catch up. Here's quilt blocks 1 & 2. Block #3 will be sewn this afternoon along with one or two setting blocks.

Knit Romper for Elle

I had cut this pattern out a few weeks ago, but didn't have time to sew it up. It turned out really cute, but next time I'm going to use my serger to sew it. Its really comfy! Elle doesn't look too happy in this photo because she had just woken up from her nap. She looks a little happier here:

The pattern is McCall's 9407.

Thrifty Thursday (but posted on Friday!!)

Here are two fabrics I got at the thrift store this week. I love this animal print.
I know I should take the time to rotate the photo so you don't have to do this:

But I'm just too darn lazy tonight. Besides, I have quilt blocks to cut and sew!

And here's a pretty fabric that I have no idea what to do with. I just thought it was pretty!

Quilt Along

This is the first block for the quilt along at Crazy Mom Quilts. I might re-do it because I don't like the solid pink in the middle. But, I don't have enough yardage of my background color. So, I'm going to see if I can get more online...if so, then I'll re-do the block.
