Awarded!

Thanks to Patty at Pipstitch for this award! How awesome! Now I'm going to have to spend some time making this blog worthy of it! lol! I'd like to pass it on to Shannon at Shannon Leigh Designs and Kris at Quilted Simple.

Stash Busting

I hearby solemnly swear to stash bust during the month of August. No new yarn; no new fabric.

Oh dear. Did I really just say that?

Half way

I take such awful pictures! That's because I'm always taking them indoors at night. I promise better photos from now on! lol! I'm officially half way done with the Crochet Today baby frock. I left my stitch marker in it (that's the orange thing) because it marks the wrong side. Now I just have to do the front panel and stitch them together. Its an easy pattern and it looks really cute. The next photo you see of it will be taken outdoors and my daughter will be wearing it. Hopefully the photo will be a good one!

So Much To Create...So Little Time!

I had to switch yarns for my crocheted toddler dress because I couldn't get the gauge right. Here's the new yarn and my progress so far. I have a feeling I'll finish this dress and Sunny will grow out of it in a week. Both my girls are growing leaps and bounds lately. Elle seems to have gone from a size 9 month straight to an 18 month size! Sunny is still in a 12 month, so this dress is for her. I also found abetter dress to knit. It isn't a hoodie, but its darn cute and just what I was looking for. The problem is that while searching for the perfect first knitted garment project, I came across SO many other projects I'd like to knit. The following two are definitely in my knitting future:

The above pattern can be found here.

This one can be found here.

I'm nervous about knitting patterns since I've never knitted anything from a pattern. Armhole and neckline shaping makes me nervous! Hopefully the crocheted toddler dress I'm working on won't be too difficult.

Speaking of so much to create and so little time, I've been wanting to make pants for all three of my kids and an Amy Butler tunic for me. Geez, I don't know how so many of you find time to finish projects. My kids keep me SO busy its a miracle I've been able to finish the few things I have finished. I guess it gets easier as the kids get older...at least, I hope it does!

Beginnings....

I have 2 projects in the works...the above will be a baby frock from the magazine Crochet Today. I'm embarrassed to admit I had to rip out my first row TWICE!! It was 11pm, so that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it! Its going much better today. The second project is a knitted hooded pullover from the Lion Brand website. I don't know if that link will take you straight to the free pattern since you have to register to use the Lion Brand site. I will be omitting the front pocket on the pullover and I'm also going to make it longer. If anyone has a link to a pattern for a hooded pullover for toddlers that is like a tunic or a dress, please let me know in the comments. I don't like how bulky the yarn is that the pattern calls for so I was thinking I'll try substituting yarns, checking my gauge and hoping it works. Things don't always work out well for me when I don't stick to knit or crochet patterns, so I'm nervous!
