Wow, Thanksgiving already?? This year has flown by. How do you make time slow down? I suppose by moving someplace slower. Time didn't seem to move so quickly when we lived in the country. Here in the city it just flies by. Or maybe its because I have children now. Kids do tend to move things along at a frenetic pace. Who knows. All I know is there is only one month until Christmas and I have done no Christmas shopping!
On Sunday I bought the DVD Wall-E for Luke. We love this movie, but its kinda strange to hear my 4 year old singing, "Out there...there's a world outside of Yonkers. Way out there beyond this hick town, Barnaby. There's a slick town Barnaby!" Thanks to Wall-E there's a new generation of kids who are familiar with the musical Hello Dolly, but they don't know its Hello Dolly; they think its Wall-E. The funniest thing is there's a line that goes, "We'll see the shows at Delmonicos", but Luke thinks they sing "Barnacles" and every time he watches Wall-E and that line comes up he yells, "BARNACLES!!" and then giggles and says, "That's Spongebob, Mama."
And on the knitting front...this:
A hat for Sunny. The pattern is from Last Minute Knitted Gifts from Joelle Hoverson. I like it a lot, but had to add an inch to the height of the hat. I don't know if that means Sunny has a big head or if it means the pattern maker doesn't have kids. ;) I used Peaches & Cream cotton yarn from Joann's and my brand-spankin'-new Addi Turbo needles (16" size 7 circulars). I love the Addi Turbos. Very nice.
I'm also almost finished with 2 quilts. The quilt I was working on last week turned into 2 quilts because half way through the first one I got an idea for another one. I also need to finish my mom's quilt and a quilt for my dad for his lake house. Hopefully I'll get everything finished. The good thing is I am getting rid of my huge, useless desk and am replacing it with a sewing center. I'm not sure which table to get yet.....I'll keep you updated!
Happy Thanksgiving! I'll leave you with a photo Luke took of himself using Photobooth...
Great photo, huh???
