I ended up cleaning a lot today, so all I have to show for the quiltathon is this:
One 8" circle block, a stack of 8" Wall-E blocks (that are just 8" squares of the fabric), and I sewed the "E" on Luke. I was going to stay up late and do some more, but my husband is taking Luke to church tomorrow (twins have the sniffles so I'm staying home with them) so I'll have time tomorrow morning to get a lot of sewing done.
My circle block isn't very good, but its good for someone who is new to curved piecing, so I'm happy with it. I want to be good at curved piecing, so I'm going to keep at it. Practice makes perfect, right? I've always been afraid of curved piecing, but when I asked Luke what he wanted on his quilt he said, "I want L-U-K-E and circles and squares and that's it, Mama." I love a kid who knows what he wants. So thus begins my adventures with curved piecing!

Why wasn't my mom a quilter? Luke is so lucky to have you! I can't wait to see it when it's all finished.
ANY mom who will make circles, squares and L-U-K-E on a kid's quilt just because he asked for it will be making perfect circles. i guarantee it! looks like a great job so far.
How brave you are to make circles! That is something I haven't tackled yet!
Thanks for visiting!
Looking GOOD that's a great circle from what we can see!
