The First Step To Recovery...

is admitting you have a problem. I have a stash problem.

Lots of fabrics. Too many trips to Joann's, the thrift store, and I've been too quick to click the "submit order" button online late at night.

To solve this problem I've joined two contests at Pattern Review. One is a stash contest and the other is a repurposing/recycling contest. The only problem with both is that one only lasts another 2 weeks and the other is over soon, too (I think in February). Luckily, I've got a decent sewing area now so I can get to sewing. Speaking of sewing areas....
I have my own sewing room now! How thrilling is that? Last weekend I went through this place like a woman on a mission and threw away 2 trash bags full of crap and gave another 4 trash bags full of stuff to the Salvation Army. That emptied our entire "storage room"...which is now a bedroom. That freed up a room for me. A sewing room for me. Yay! Its still a bit cluttered because I have so many fabrics and yarn (it truly shocked me! I could totally become a hoarder!) but, I'm going to seriously use up the fabrics I have before buying more. Many quilts are in my future.

Diamonds are a girl's best friend...Designer Diamonds, that is...

Do you think I have enough knitting needles? This doesn't even include my circulars...

And Elvis PEZley, keeper of the spools...

Off to put the girls down for a nap and then...SEWING! Happy days, indeed!

Yay on the new sewing room! I still have a lot of things to get rid of myself. I have a walk-in closet in my sewing/knitting room full (every shelf from floor to ceiling filled) with yarn on one side, fabric on the other.

That's funny! I really should start a stash. I buy project by project, but then don't have what I want when I get that urge late night!!

Hi, I am a fist time visitor. Way to go on cleaning out a room. I love getting rid of stuff. I bet you feel so good now. I like your blog. I'm going over to peek at your other one.

Emptying six bags from your room is quite a feat. And I don't think you have a stash problem. Unless it starts falling over. But then it's only the falling over that's the problem, not the stash itself. NEVER the stash!

Good luck on using up that stash - you can do it - think positive.

Oh AZ, I think you and I have the same hoarding affliction. The oodles of fabric and yarn that I have collected make me kind of sick actually. Mostly because I don't want most of it as it turns out. I ventured into the world of handmade toys with an amirigumi bird. The kids are in LOVE and it used some of my "crap" yarn stash. I think I am on to something! My kids are going to have more knit and crochet creatures than they ever really wanted!

Why don't to load up those kiddies and come on out here. we could craft to our heart's content while the munchkins play. Lets plan it!

I looooooove your needles. And can't wait to see what you do with the new-found fabric (really, it's like buying it all over again when you forgot you had it!)
