Well, I didn't pick up the sewing machine in the cabinet. It was a Singer 201-2 and it was in good shape, but the cabinet was beat up. I really wanted it for the cabinet because I planned to put my 301 in it. I considered buying it simply because the machine was in good shape, but I didn't feel like loading the whole thing into my van just to take the machine out at home and leave the cabinet in the alley. I didn't come home empty-handed though. I got this one for decoration:
I know...decoration? It was too pretty to pass up and it was only $11.00. Its missing a piece (the slide plate...or is it the throat plate?), but it does work. Once its cleaned up it should look great. Hopefully I can find a replacement for the missing piece.
I'm off to do some sewing. I was on a massive cleaning spree all weekend, so now I can sew and feel good about it. There's nothing worse than trying to sew when there's a messy house on your mind.
