I recently bought a vintage quilt from a thrift store that has pieced butterflies on it. Here are a few more pics of it:
This is Luke's way of asking if I'm taking a picture of this "blanket".
The quilt is so pretty and I like it so much I thought I'd recreate it with EQ6. I just got EQ6 so I'm not good at it yet. For instance, I have no idea how to put the antennae on the butterflies. They will be embroidered on; not appliqued, so I wasn't sure how to put them on using EQ6. I'll figure it out, though. For now, here is a peek at a possible color combo for the quilt:
I really like the lightness of the original quilt, though. I've got to upload more fabrics into EQ6. Right now I only have the preloaded ones. Then I'll be able to be more creative with fabric choices.

oh, that quilt is so pretty!
love that quilt , great find. Do you like the EQ? How often do you use it. I was thinking about getting it, but am scared to.
I really like it so far. I have designed a few quilts with it, but nothing I'd make so far because I haven't added my fabrics to EQ6. I don't use it as much as I'd like to because the only time I have to do anything is late at night, so if I either sew or do computer "stuff". I also have an embroidery program, so I use that, too. I have more things I want to do than I have time for! :)
that quilt is beautiful - love it.

That is so cool that you recreated the quilt on EQ6. I have no idea what that is but it sounds like a neat program. And, the quilt was a nice find.
Oops! I think I left the comment on the wrong post -- I love, love, love this quilt!
Goodness, that is beautiful! That computer program sounds pretty cool. Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Wow thats great! I can't wait to see it in real life.
I love the vintage butterfly quilt and you've done a great job drafting it! I've not seen that block before - it's very sweet. I agree with you - the original colours and lightness are very appealing. Hope you get to make it up soon!
Hi Arizona,
The butterfly block is beautiful- how big are the squares? How big a quilt will you make?. I am sure it will be very pretty when you are finished. There is a butterfly quilt in the summer issue of Fons and Porter.
I don't have EQ but people seem to really enjoy using it and creating with it.
